UPDATES...

Ok...so things have been crazy over the past week. We are moving upstairs and Gma and Gpa are moving into the basement. I haven't needed to go to the gym for a week because of the workout I've been getting here at home! I joined the gym on 4/12/08, and as of last night 4/29/08 I have lost almost 3 pounds! I wanted to take it slow so my skin has a chance to catch up and hopefully I won't end up with saggy fat skin! (I lost 20 lbs in 2 months a couple of years ago, and I had lots of saggy fat skin.) So I am right on schedule! I have a goal of 1 1/2 lbs a week (6 lbs a month) So it will take me 10 months or so to get down to where I want to be.

While we have been moving, I have been taking the opportunity to revamp some of our style. The first victory I have is our main bathroom...I just love these colors!

In other news, Super Boy started Tball. He love it and is doing great. his coach says he is probably the best player on the team. Here's a picture of him at his game...I just love this one!

Our tulips and daffodils have finally bloomed! Thanks to our crazy weather they decided to show their pretty faces! Our daffodils came out about a week ago, but our tulips just came out 2 days ago. I cut the daffodils and put them on my dining room table...they smell so good and are just so pretty!

So, hope you enjoyed our little update! Take care!

Mohawk Mania!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Super Boy got a hair cut from his dad a little while ago, and as a joke, Tall boy only cut the sides and then asked him if he liked it...well, the jokes on Tall boy cause Super Boy liked it and has refused to let us cut it since! Well, I guess Tall Boy felt left out cause today he gave himself a haircut...you guessed it...a Mohawk! He only did it to take a picture with super boy and then he cut the rest off, but it sure was funny!

Of Course, Super Girl had to get in on the picture action too...

In other news, I had my "day off today" and it was pretty awesome. We started by having breakfast and going to Super Boy's 1st T-ball game for this year! He had tons of fun. Then we came home and decided that we are going to switch places with Gma and Gpa and live upstairs again! So we started by moving everything for Super Boy's room upstairs and all the stuff from that room downstairs! Luckily all I could finish was putting a bed together and helping to move some of the heavier and awkward pieces upstairs, then I had to leave for my monthly massage! This month I splurged and had a 2 hour massage! It was so AWESOME! After my bliss, I went grocery shopping and picked up dinner on the way home. Then, my hubby and I went on a date! yes you read that right...A DATE! We went on a double date with his parents to see a movie and then went to ice cream after! It was so much fun! Hope you had as much fun reading about it as I did doing it! Bye!

My New Life...Day 3

Well, I'm still alive! I am not even very sore which bodes very well for this new life of mine! I went to a water aerobics class last night and it was a workout! I thought for sure I'd be sore this morning, but I'm only a teeny bit sore in a couple of places. More good news, both the kids went to the kids club and loved it! Super Boy even asked to go back again today, so I will be heading out to the gym shortly so he can go before he has to be at school!

I finished chapter 1 of The Power of Positive Thinking and it will take some time to get through this book as well. The first chapter is called "Believe in yourself" and has 10 rules to follow to acheive this goal.

1: Form a mental picture of yourself succeeding and never let it fade. Never think of yourself failing, never doubt the reality of your mental image. Your mind will seek to complete this picture, so always picture success no matter how badly things are some moments.

2: Whenever a negative thought comes to mind, deliberately voice a positive one to cancel it out.

3: Do not build up obstacles in your mind. Difficulties must be studied and dealt with to be eliminated, but they must be seen for what they are. They must not be inflated by fear thoughts.

4: Do not be awestruck by other people and try to copy them. MOst people, despite their confident appearance and demeanor, are often as scared as you are and as doubtful of themselves. No one can be you as efficiently as YOU!

5: 10 times a day repeat Romans 8:31- "If God be for us, then who can be against us?"

6: Get a counselor to help you understand why you do what you do. Learn the origin of your inferiority and self-doubt feelings. Self-knowledge leads to a cure.

7: 10 times a day repeat Phillipians 4:13- "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." That statement is the most powerful antidote on earth to battle inferiority thoughts.

8: Make a true statement of your own ability then raise it 10%. Do not become egotistical, but develop a wholesome self-respect. Believe in your God-given powers and talents.

9: Put yourself in God's hands simply by stating "I am in God's hands" then believe you are receiving all the power that you need. Feel it flowing into you. Affirm that "the kingdom of God is within you" in the form of adequate power to meet life's demands (Luke 17:21).

10: Remind yourself that God is with you and nothing can defeat you. Believe that you now receive power from Him.

You can see why this might take awhile! But I already have positive news to relay! I cleaned the house yesterday, and my husband NOTICED AND SAID SOMETHING NICE! Wow...what a great day! 2 days in a row and no floods to speak of! Knock on wood as I hope for a 3rd blessed day! Take care!

My New Life...

To all of you fine people who have been tuning in since the beginning of my glorious blogging career...I have some fun news about my life! I just joined a gym over the weekend, and today was my 1st real workout in...too long. ANyway, I went in and Super Girl went into their kids club and LOVED IT! I did 10 minutes on the treadmill (walking and jogging) then I did some weights and sit ups. Then I swam, had a shower and got Super GIrl from the kids club. It took me 1 1/2 hours and I thought I'd be tired, but I feel great. Now I'm sitting down with my large glass of water and my low-fat lasagna lunch, dreaming about my new found energy and how great I'm going to look and feel very soon! I took it easy today, just to see how sore I am tomorrow, but if I'm not sore I think I'll be going 5 days a week! I plan on doing a workout like today on M W F, and on T & Th nights, they have a water aerobics class.

I also made another change recently, I have decided to go to a counsellor atleast once a month to help with the depression issues I'm struggling with and to improve my communication skills and awareness in my marriage. My councellor is fabulous! She really speaks with kindness and explains things very well. She recommended 2 books for me The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, and Feelings Buried Alive Never Die by Karol K. Truman. I haven't started reading yet...but I'm starting with The POwer of Positive Thinking because she said the other one is rough and takes a lot of work to get through it. I am going to go read after I post this.

So I just wanted to let you all in on my very positive day...now here's knocking on wood and hoping that my good day doesn't end in a flood like Kam's! Just to be safe, I won't do laundry just yet! Well...that is my new outlook on life! Sounds pretty fantastic right! Tune in soon for more snippets of my life!

Happy Birthday Tall Boy!

It's official...Tall Boy has entered the 30-something ages! We had dinner from one of our favorite restaurants, Good Wood Barbecue. We spent the day watching movies. Tall Boy got the Redneck Board game from us and a Colts tie from my mom and dad. I made him a special tombstone cake and chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert. Here's a picture of the cake. If you can't read it, it says...

30

You might be over the hill, but atleast you're not under it!

I also gave him a card that said,

"Honey, you may see it as losing your hair..."

on the inside it said,

"But I see it as having more face to love!"

I am in for some big trouble in a couple of years I think!

Happy Birthday Super Boy!

We have had so much fun this past week! Super Boy had a birthday! We decided to surprise him TWICE! The first surprise was his Gma coming to visit. We picked her up at the airport and he was so excited and surprised! Then we had a surprise party on Saturday in a park with his school friends. It was an elephant themed party with elephant party hats, elephant bingo, pin the tail on the elephant, and elephant figurines on the cake! It was a blast, but it was also FREEZING! It was about 40 degrees, but the wind chill had to be 20 degrees! Poor kids were frozen, good thing the party was only 1 hour long!

Then we had a party with just family on Super Boy's actual birthday. We had his cousins over, so we played elephant bingo and pint he tail on the elephant again. We had pizza for dinner, and then we had another elephant cake. Only, this time, the cake was shaped like an elephant and Super Boy actually helped put it together! I have to thank my mom for the idea...it is 4 round cakes cut up to be the head of an elephant. 1 cake for the face, 2 cakes for the ears, and 1 cake cut for the trunk. We had so much fun!

Super Boy got a lot of elephants and other toys/books. I put a slide show of them on the next post...sorry, I couldn't get it to work in this post! :)

I just can't believe he is already 6! I keep asking him how that happened! It's like I blinked and he went from being a baby to a very cute and smart 6 year old! Time sure does fly...but I'm sure my mom feels the same way about me!
