Happy Birthday Super Boy!!!

10 years ago I was starting to have severe labor pains after 30 hours of pitocin (induction medicine) 6 HOURS later (3 of which were PUSHING) we finally had a C-section to deliver our baby boy....the one we thought was a girl...
Tall Boy was SO HAPPY!!!
Although it was the most painful and difficult thing my body had ever done, we finally had a child to join our family! What a blessing he has been!

From a fun and mischievous infant...

... to being a great big brother to Super Girl!
He has become so self sufficient...
and so willing to serve others...
and respectful and appreciative of his family...

with his own hopes and beliefs...
likes and dislikes...
with so much potential for whatever he wants to be!
Happy Birthday Super Boy! You are loved so much more than you will ever know!

Where has the time gone!

I got an email from my dad requesting some new blog material! So here I am being a good girl and catching you all up! I intended on doing a Christmas/New Year letter for our friends and family, but life happened...so instead I am doing a catch-up blog!
We had a great Christmas.

We all got what we really wanted, and I had fun making matching Christmas dresses for Super Girl and her doll!

Our stockings were VERY full, and Santa sure did like our treats! He even took the time to write us a response  to our note!

We had a lot of fun making a delicious gingerbread tree with an awesome cookie cutter set my mom gave us, we made it big enough to eat 1 cookie a day until Christmas!

Super Boy was also in a production of "A Christmas Carol" with his 4th grade class, he was a grave digger!

In January, Tall Boy and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary! Hard to believe it has been that long! In February, we moved Super Boy out of his school, back into our neighborhood school. He wasn't enjoying the Accelerated program any more, and thought it best to go back to a normal 4th grade class. I am really happy we did, and Super Boy seems happier than ever with the switch!

I am still very busy with LIFE!!! I have 2 classes this semester, both online. I am learning about Conservation Biology and Natural Disasters. They are both very interesting classes. I also help out at the kids' school with Home Reading Library and helping in Super Girl's class every Friday with whatever cutting/put together project her teacher is in need of. I also work with Bear Cub Scouts on Mondays! In my "spare time" I have been working on sewing a custom nursery ensemble for a friend and keeping an Etsy shop for all my other baby projects. I recently joined the Pinterest crowd and have done a few of the cool things I found there.

Tall Boy has been with the same company for 7 years, but is now contemplating a job change. He hasn't been too happy with some of the choices his company has been making recently. He is also recovering from a severe toe dislocation that occurred while playing church ball!

Winter finally arrived this past week...I was enjoying our California winter, way to ruin it snow!!! Oh well, I still love winter, I just don't like feeling like I should be hibernating right about now!

As for what is coming, Super Boy will be turning 10 in a month!!! Guess I better start planning for that!

Hope that covers the bases dad! We love all of you and hope you all are doing well! Until next time...

Look who turned 32!

Today is my birthday!
I have had a good day so far. Kids woke me up at 7:30am by singing "Happy birthday to you" and insisting I come downstairs. So I reluctantly left my warm bed. The kids and Tall Boy had "wrapped" my presents in a blanket on the couch. Tall Boy got me a wall mount for our TV in the bedroom...we are hoping it will make a good ceiling mount...we really are that lazy!
Super Boy got me Pot of Gold Turtles (Pecan bits and caramel covered in milk chocolate),
and Super Girl got me gummy lifesavers.
We came home from church and Tall Boy helped the kids make cupcakes. I let the kids decorate 2 each, and I decorated a couple too...

We are probably going out to dinner to Tucano's, but I haven't decided entirely. We went to church and had really good lessons. But perhaps the best present of all is coming later this week...my parents are coming for a week and a half over Thanksgiving and will be taking the kids over a weekend so Tall Boy and I can have a romantic and peaceful weekend to ourselves!

So a Very Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Playing Catch-Up

Sorry it has been SO LONG since our last post. Winter, holidays, and LIFE seem to just take over! Here is a quick update:

I got an A in my online class last semester, now I have started a new online class and love it so far. Tall Boy and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. Super Boy finished flag football and has now moved on to basketball. He loves being active and earning beltloops and other awards in cub scouts. Super Girl is still LOVING preschool and can't wait until she is 5 so she can go to Kindergarten.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Hot Mama's family, and a spectacular Christmas at home.

Recently I started the YOU on a diet plan by Dr. Oz. It has been 1 week and I have lost 3 pounds! I have had so much more mental energy that it has been hard to sleep! I had a couple of slip ups, craving cave-ins, and a dinner out, but I still managed to lose 3 lbs without any extra exercise!!! Hopefully this trend will continue and I will continue to make progress! Wish me luck!

Summertime Fun

We have been busy busy busy with summer fun! Both kids started gymnastics in June. They both love it so far. Super Boy sometimes doesn't like stretching, but he sure does make some funny faces while he's doing it! Here he is on the bar...
Super Girl just loves running, jumping, swinging and rolling her way through class. Here she is on parallel bars and the wedge mat...

In other news, Super Boy lost his first upper tooth and the second is coming quick!
We also took a short but fabulous trip to Cali for 4th of July weekend. We had a nephew getting baptized and a niece getting blessed! We got to see most of our family that still lives in Cali and also got to work on our tans! Here are some of our pics from the trip...
