Welcome Mini-she! And other fun events...
As I told you in an earlier blog, my sister just had her 1st baby! She is so cute and pudgy and squishable (the baby, not my sis!) My dad sent me pics on my phone and I can't get them off! So for now, I just took a picture of the picture on my phone (I know, I thought I was more computer savvy than that too!), but atleast you get somewhat of an idea on what she looks like... sort of...these pictures do not do her justice!

With all my whining recently, I forgot to post our pictures from playing at Burger King and from going to see the Harlem Globetrotters! Super Boy is in love with American Gladiators. In the final competition, they run "The Eliminator". Part of the eliminator is a climb up a cargo net. One day Tall Boy took Super Boy to play at a Burger King and they had a cargo net. Super Boy now runs his own eliminator through the play area at Burger King! He climbs up stairs, goes through a tunnel, climbs on the cargo net and finishes by sliding down the twisty slide! His fastest time is 30 seconds! Super Girl also enjoys this Burger King because it has a little tube slide that she can do all by herself!

We took the train to see the show, it was Super Girl's 1st train ride. She was so excited to watch all the stuff wooshing by. Both my kids were just too adorable!

Well, I think that's about it for our fun today, as soon as I can figure out how to get the pictures off my phone, I'll post those...see ya!

Fast forward about 18 months (which takes about as much time as reading this sentence, or at least so it seems), and she'll probably look something like this...

We also went to see the Harlem Globetrotters recently...it was so much fun! Super Girl actually watched for the 1st hour, then she needed to get up and run around. We were very high up in the seats, and Super Boy was very scared at first, but he relaxed after awhile.

1 week later...my life in a nutshell (or a blog)
Well, it has been a week since I started my new medication regiment...I now need an "old person size" pill box! I was just dosing out all my vitamins, supplements, and medication for this week and if I didn't pack it just right, they all didn't fit in my 1 box per day pill box! So I need to get the pill boxes that have morning, afternoon and night boxes for each day...it's so sad! I am officially old. I have had some really good days and some not so good days, but hopefully over the next month or so, it will all start to even out a bit more. I have been outside more this week, and I think that has helped. I have also been sitting under my sunlight lamp more often.
I had a parent teacher conference yesterday with Super boy's teacher. She said that the psychologist said she doesn't think there is any reason to worry about Autism! She thinks it is just speech related, but will still continue to test and monitor over the next year. That was some excellent news. Also, Super boy's teacher is very adamant that he should be in the Accelerated learning program that he tested for. She says he is doing 2nd grade math and reading! Such a smart cookie! She is very proud of him and is so happy to be teaching him. Super boy has also been to an orthopedic specialist for his pigeon toed-ness and has had special inserts for his shoes that are helping to turn his feet to the proper angle. He has been great about remembering to switch them into whatever shoes he is wearing...what a grown up boy!
In other news, Super girl is officially off all of the following foods:
dairy
soy
nuts
apples
grapes
We also have to be careful of the breading on some chicken...it is too seasoned or something, and she has a reaction. Talk about issues...poor baby. We have to go in for her 18 month check up and report on our findings. We might have to go see a Gastroenterologist too. Fun fun fun.
This just in...
I just got a picture sent to my phone...I think my sister just had her baby! She is cute and pudgy! They were worried that she would have to be delivered by c-section, so I can't wait to find out how it went!
Well, that's my life right now. Thanks for tuning in! And thanks to all my friends who have helped and supported me lately...you are all so amazing! Love ya!

Oh what a difference a day makes!
I am a happy girl (for the moment) today. I got new medication and some new instructions from my doctor yesterday! I am now taking Lexapro (fingers crossed that this will work well for me) and have instructions to take a Vitamin B complex and fish oil (yuck!) everyday. Wish me luck! Fish and I don't get along, so hopefully the fish oil won't bother my stomach. Anyway, so that is my little ray of sunshine for today! Wish me luck!
PS I lost my wallet 2 days ago and was really starting to freak out. So I went to the place I knew I had it last (I had called 3 times already and been told there wasn't a wallet there) and I walked up to the 1st worker I saw, explained when I was there and that I might have left a wallet, and discribed my wallet...he reached into a drawer and said "Did I make your day?" as he produced my beloved wallet intact, all credit cards and cash accounted for! I replied, "No, you made my LIFE today!" I was so excited and relieved. When I got into my car I just started crying, I was so thankful for the good, honest people who turned it in. I was so relieved, that I did something I had been wanting to do for months...got a haircut! It's back to it's short, very layered look that is in our family photo. Well, that's all for my best day in a long time! Bye!

Issues...this is not an upbeat post
Sorry for the downer post, but I am really struggling with some issues. I would like some feedback...
Our Super Boy has just finished taking an advanced placement test, and he is currently in speech therapy, and now the therapist wants to do a full Autism test with him. I know he is smart, and I know he has some speech issues (mainly that he stops mid-sentence and repeats a sound until the rest of the sentence spills out) but I don't know how to deal with Autism. I know that if he has it, it will be a very-high functioning level like Aspbergers (sp?) but I am already drowning in my life duties and am not sure how to add that one on...any suggestions?
Also, I am currently dealing with some depression issues...to any of you who know me, I know this comes as a shock because I am usually upbeat and fun...but I am having some major issues. I think I have a combination of PMDD (diagnosed) and SAD (not diagnosed). I am on Zoloft at the moment, but it isn't working like it was when I 1st started taking it. Anyone else have the same problem? It was like it worked perfectly for the 1st month, now I'm not sure if it's working at all. Again, any suggestions? (other than switching meds? That call is going in to my doctor tomorrow)
And lastly, my daughter is 18 months old and going through a very whiney stage...I don't know if it seems worse to me because of the depression, but other people have commented about her. All she want is to be with me, on me, flopping on me and it is SO OLD! She is just now starting to go to her daddy when he tells her to, but I am about ready to scream. She is super active all the time and I just need her to be able to be 2 feet away from me without whining and crying, and I don't want to be cruel to her. I already stick her in her room and close the door when she starts whining unceasingly, any other suggerstions?
Thanks for the sounding board, I feel a little better already!

Spring Cleaning and new toys! Now with photos!
As promised, this blog now has photos!
To boost this cleaning frenzy, we decided to buy a big LCD tv...to give you an idea of how big it is, it is about 52" wide and 33" tall! Because the TV is so big, we had to clean out the entertainment center & move it into storage (super girl's room), and that snowballed me into cleaning off
our desks and organizing them! I even got a new, very comfy office chair. We also had some bad luck with one of our laptops, so now I will be confined to a desktop (thus the new comfy chair). But all in all, it has been fun! Yes mother, I just said that I have been having fun cleaning! Pick your jaw up off the floor! Stop laughing...I'm serious!
I have been on a spring cleaning kick this past couple of weeks. It all started when we got new beds for the kids. Suddenly I realized that I could get rid of all the baby bedding, toddler bed, Super boy's old twin bed, and all the twin size stuff that didn't match anything else! So that started a whole bunch of ads on KSL, and now Ebay! I was successful in selling the beds and some other baby stuff on KSL, but the bedding didn't go so well. Then I decided to take all the baby clothes I had been collecting and finally try to sell them at kid to kid...I got $17 for about 1/5 of my stash. So now I'm on Ebay hoping to recoop some $$$ from this stuff! But it has made me into this cleaning frenzied woman! I feel a little crazy!

Christmas and more!
Hello all! Sorry it's been crazy and I haven't posted in awhile. So here's the break down of what we've been up to for the past few weeks...
Christmas Eve we went to our friend's house and exchanged gifts with them, had dinner and played games.
Christmas Day was spent lounging around at home, and then we met with Tall Boy's brother and his family and exchanged gifts with them. We had the traditional Ham dinner...it was YUMMY!
Some of the favorite gifts were:
Super Girl- Doll with pacifier from Santa and Dress up Chest
Super Boy- Dora Candy Land Computer Game from Santa and digital camera

Tall Boy- 20 piece screwdriver set, 60 piece socket set & Ticket To Ride Game
Scrap Happy Mommy- Journey Necklace from Santa & New Cookbook
Family- Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader Card Game
For New Year's Eve Tall Boy and I got a very special treat, Gma offered to watch the kids for 4 days while we went away to a hotel on a lake! We had so much fun just relaxing playing games and SLEEPING! It was a much needed get away.
Then this past weekend I went away with Super Girl. We went to see my sister in California who is VERY PREGNANT! Gma and Gpa were SO HAPPY to see Super Girl (and they tolerated my presence as well). I went to a baby shower, had dinner with old high school friends, did some shopping, saw a friend I hadn't seen in almost 10 years, went to church with the parents and saw some more familiar faces, had a family get together with all my brother's and sister (except one out of state brother) and most of their kids, then went to a group with my mom and listened to some stories about some very interesting people from the past, had a great lunch, packed my things and flew home! It was a great trip, but it was EXHAUSTING! I was ALMOST grateful to get back to my usual duties. Although I wasn't pleased about the state of my home when I returned! NO ONE DID ANY DISHES OR LAUNDRY WHILE I WAS GONE! Talk about a nice homecoming gift! So I have spent the past couple of days trying to catch up.
So that's it in a nut shell! Hope that catches you up for now!

Super Boy's 1st Musical Performance!
Super Boy's class did such a great job at the school's Christmas Sing-Along. They were dead-last to perform, but they waited patiently and it was great. Sorry for the poor quality of the video, but they didn't let us get very close. The 1st song is "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" and i is very quiet. The 2nd song is "I want to be your personal penguin" and it WILL GET STUCK IN YOUR HEAD!!! Fair Warning now! It's been in my head for 2 weeks now! If you dare...listen up!
Super Girl stars in "Heidi at Christmas"...Backstage Photos!
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

We have now had 2 very impressive snow storms and are supposed to get another one for Christmas Eve!
These are pictures from the 1st storm...8 inches!!! The storm we had last night was 8 inches as well...that's the most snow we've ever seen here! Thank heavens it warmed up right before the 2nd storm, or we would be at least knee-high in snow!
We haven' been able to make a snow man yet the snow has been too powdery...but hopefully our next storm will bring some wetter snow! The kids just were so excited to get out and play and have a ride in the sled...thanks Grandpa for buying them! Super Girl didn't like her hat very much, so her hair got very snowy and icy...she didn't stay out for very long!
Anyway, hope you like our Winter Wonderland Pictures!

Thanksgiving on so many levels!

We have had quite

the
whirlwind of activity here! We have had family from out of tow
n, Elk hunting, trips down the stairs and SO MUCH MORE!We will start with family...we had Thanksgiving on Tuesday with 17 people! The Saturday before was spent making 11 pies, The Sunday was spent making tons of rolls! My sister-in-law came decked out with crafts for 7 kids! They made turkey napkin rings, snowman thermometers, and Nativity ornaments! It was a bit stressful, but the kids loved it! We had done a test run with the turkey 2 weeks prior, and again it was phenomenal! We used the convection feature on the oven and the turkey was juicy everywhere!
Next are the trips down the stairs...first it was Super Girl attempting to fly down the stairs, she chipped a tooth and got a few bumps and bruises along the way. Then a couple days later, I was walking down the stairs in my socks, and my foot slipped out from under me...BAM right on the tooshie! OUCH! I think I bruised my tail bone! It still hurts sometimes!
During the weekend before Thanksgiving, Tall boy, all his brothers and his dad all went Elk hunting. Tall boy's brother and Tall boy's friend from work both got Elks over the weekend! Tall boy was unsuccessful, but he decided to go with Super Boy the following weekend. Tall boy's friend from work brought his kids. The kids had fun and Tall boy got his elk!
After things settled down a bit, Gma and I went to do dry pack canning. We did SO MANY CANS! Just the 2 of us canned atleast 70 cans! We bought 32 of them! It felt so good to do something that is so important for my family.
Last but certainly not least are some pictures of Super Girl in her Christmas Dress and another of her with a rootbeer float mustache!

Some Cute Pictures

I just couldn't resist putting these pics on my blog! I have such cute kids! I did Super Girl's hair into 3 pig tails one night, she was so adorable, and of course brother had to have one picture with her too, then Tall Boy took some pics of Super Girl coming down the stairs the other night. She is finally getting the hang of it and isn't scaring me to death everytime she attempts them! Anyway, just thought I'd post the cuteness!
Happy Birthday to ME!!!

I had a most splendid, wonderful birthday. Tall Boy stayed home from work, so we all went out to breakfast. Then we came home and I opened presents, Nathan took the pictures. I got a card game called SWAP, a 4X4 Rubik's Cube, some chocolate covered candy sticks and a can of almond roca! Then Tall Boy took Super Boy to school. I put Super Girl down for a nap, then Tall Boy gave me a massage! SO GOOD! I asked him if I could have a birthday everyday, he replied "we'll see", that's enough for me to hope on! After my glorious massage, I was ready for a nap, but I couldn't stop thinking about how to solve the Rubik's cube! Later that night, Gma and Gpa watched the kids and Tall Boy and I went out to dinner at my favorite BBQ place. It was SO NICE to have someone else cook, do the dishes, and clean off the table when we were done eating! It was also very nice to not hear "mom, mom, mom!" for about an hour! After we got home from dinner, Tall Boy and Super Boy baked me a Hot Fudge Cake! We ate it while it was warm with some vanilla ice cream. It was just a great day! Hope you enjoy the pics!
